I finally came to Taiwan. The day should be started with breakfast.
I stayed at the hotel near MTR Minquan W. Rd. Station, and there was Shuanglian morning market nearby. In the market, fresh fruits and vegetables were displayed, and many people visited here. Around the market, there were many stores opening early in the morning, and I often came around here for breakfast.
Deep-fried bread and soy milk at 佳佳豆漿
The combination of deep-fried bread and soy milk is something that comes to mind when I think about Taiwanese breakfast. I ordered sweet soy milk, deep-fried bread, and an omelet. Soy milk in Taiwan was a bit different from Japanese.
The Japanese menu was available.

Opium porridge at 鴉片粥 一點創意麵線料理
Some people might be surprised to hear 'opium porridge', don't worry real opium is not in it. The name comes from the fact that the porridge is highly addictive once you eat.
The store appeared in Japanese and Korean TV shows, and many local people were in line for takeout.
Peanuts, century eggs, green onions, fish powder and other ingredients were on top of the porridge, and it was filling. The crispy texture of peanuts worked well.

Soup with rice-flour dumplings at 燕山湯圓
The store was established more than 50 years ago, and it is frequently visited by locals. 鹹湯圓 (xián tāng yuán) is the soup with rice-flour dumplings with meat inside, which is the most popular dish here.
The simple and light taste of the soup was easy on the body, and even if I have no appetite, I can still eat this soup.

Chinese steamed bun with fully filled vegetables at 老蔡水煎包
水煎包 (shuǐ jiān bāo) is a bun, which is like the middle of Chinese steamed bun and Japanese roasted bun (Oyaki).
老蔡水煎包 is a chain store in Taiwan, but the atmosphere was like a local. The buns were wrapped and cooked inside the store.
I ordered a Chinese chive bun and a cabbage bun. Chopped glass noodles and vegetables were fully filled inside, and the taste was good. It would be good to eat as snacks.
